Inclinometer

DIS Sensors’ inclinometers are based on robust MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology, ensuring highly accurate and reliable tilt and angle measurements relative to gravity. By converting capacitance differences into an analogue signal, the sensor precisely detects even the smallest changes in inclination.

An inclinometer is used when accurate positioning or continuous monitoring of angles is required. The sensor measures the angle relative to the horizontal plane, using an imaginary line from the center of the earth as its reference. DIS inclinometers combine static tilt (slope) and dynamic movement (acceleration) into a single output, providing a complete and dependable measurement.

The standard frequency range is 10 Hz, but it can be adjusted to lower ranges if required. Thanks to their flexible design, DIS inclinometers can easily be customized and integrated into a wide variety of applications.

Typical applications include:

  • Leveling and tilt protection
  • Angle, roll and pitch measurements
  • Concrete pumps, cranes, solar panel systems and agricultural machinery

Tilt switch

DIS Sensors’ tilt switches are reliable devices designed to detect when a predefined tilt angle is reached. By using gravity as a reference, the sensor can be installed in virtually any orientation while maintaining high accuracy.

The tilt switch is based on advanced MEMS technology combined with smart algorithms, enabling operation on one or two axes at any required angle. It activates when the device reaches a preset angle relative to the horizontal plane, making it ideal for safety-related functions and automated control actions.

With a wide measurement range of approximately ±170° and an adjustable zero point, the tilt switch functions as a digital equivalent of a spirit level, offering exceptional precision. Output options include NPN or PNP, and safety-certified versions (SIL1 / PLc) are available for applications with strict functional safety requirements. For enhanced reliability, redundant configurations can also be implemented.

Using the configurator, parameters such as switching angles, delay times and filters can be easily adjusted to meet your specific application needs.

Typical applications include:

  • Elevated work platforms
  • Forklift trucks and stackers
  • Agricultural machinery

Accelerometer

DIS Sensors’ accelerometers measure acceleration across 1, 2 or 3 axes and are designed for applications that require fast, accurate motion detection. Using MEMS technology, the sensor converts acceleration into an analogue signal that changes proportionally to the experienced movement.

Compared to inclinometers, accelerometers offer a much higher frequency range - up to 1,000 Hz, making them ideal for detecting rapid movements and vibrations. Measurement ranges extend from ±0.25 g to ±16 g, and the sensors operate reliably in temperatures from -40°C to +85°C.

The flexible sensor design allows easy customization to suit your specific solution. Housings are available in aluminium, stainless steel or plastic, and a wide range of accessories ensures optimal performance in demanding environments.

Typical applications include:

  • Active vibration damping
  • Vibration measurement and transport monitoring
  • Preventive and condition-based maintenance
  • Wind turbines, containers and agricultural machinery

Rotary encoder

DIS Sensors’ QR series rotary encoders enable precise, contactless measurement of rotation angles from 0° to 360°, ensuring long service life and reliable performance even in harsh conditions.

Two main housing options are available:

  • QR30 – sensor and magnet mounted separately
  • QR40 – magnet integrated directly into the rotating shaft

QR30 / QR20EMN

In these models, the magnet is attached by the customer to the rotating axle in the application (on-axis), with a permissible distance of up to 10 mm from the sensor. This allows flexible installation and reliable operation in rough environments. The encoders offer 10 or 12-bit resolution, depending on the version.

The QR30 series is available as:

  • Absolute rotary encoders – provide an analogue output that directly reflects the angular position immediately after power-up
  • Incremental rotary encoders – designed for speed measurement, generating A and B pulse signals with 32 to 1024 pulses per revolution, enabling direction detection

QR40

Unlike the QR30 series, the QR40 rotary encoder features an integrated magnet and a D-shaped shaft. The built-in zero-position input allows easy calibration after installation, simplifying mounting and increasing flexibility.

DIS Sensors also offers customized rotary encoder solutions to meet specific application requirements.
