We are pleased to introduce the JHLN, a new single-axis joystick from OTTO Controls designed to combine a compact footprint with advanced functionality. The JHLN is a narrow, bottom-mount version of the JHL series, developed specifically for installations where space is limited, such as armrests and control panels in heavy equipment and specialty vehicles.

The JHLN joystick uses contactless Hall effect sensing technology, providing precise control, high reliability and long service life. It also features high-performance output options including PWM, CANopen and J1939, with support for PLd functional safety.

Flexible actuation options

The JHLN can be configured with two different actuation types:

  • Friction hold, where the joystick remains in position when released
  • Return-to-center, where the joystick automatically springs back to neutral

This flexibility makes the JHLN suitable for a wide range of control functions in construction machinery, agricultural equipment and other off-highway applications.

Unique handle configurations

The JHLN also introduces several handle styles exclusive to this model. Five different configurations are available:

  • Tall handle with pushbutton
  • Tall handle with TC switch module
  • Tall handle without top switch
  • Short handle with pushbutton
  • Short handle without switch

Its narrow profile makes the joystick ideal for space-constrained installations while providing more functionality than previous single-axis models in the JHS series.

With its combination of compact design, robust construction and advanced signal outputs, the JHLN is well suited for modern control systems operating in demanding environments.
