Wire-module

A wire module in combination with a encoder (incremental or absolute), provides the ability to measure speed, length or position in applications where, for example, it is difficult to mount a traditional encoder on a rotating shaft or where you are missing the linear moving mechanics.

The wire-module consists of a rotating drum / coil where wire is rolled up. In the center of this drum we mount a traditional encoder. When the wire is pulled out of the module, the encoder rotates and its pulses can thus be converted into a length measurement or to get the speed of the movement.
