SoftZorb™ MCS is a soft silicone-based absorber designed to provide effective cavity resonance suppression while minimising mechanical stress on sensitive electronic components. Its exceptionally low deflection force makes it ideal for applications where lids, covers or housings may compress the absorber and potentially damage adjacent components. By conforming closely to cavity geometries, SoftZorb™ MCS reduces leakage around the absorber and significantly improves RF absorption performance.
Optimised for cavity resonance control from 0.8 to 18 GHz, SoftZorb™ MCS combines high magnetic loss with excellent attenuation performance. The material is particularly well suited for compact electronic assemblies with tight tolerance stack-ups where EMC performance and mechanical reliability are equally important. With operating temperatures up to 177°C, UL94 V-0 flammability rating and a thermal conductivity of 1.4 W/mK, SoftZorb™ MCS is an excellent solution for datacom, aerospace, defence and other advanced electronic applications.
